Agencies Join Forces in Strategic Merger 18 February 2025
The renowned Benelux agencies OONA and BAAS, both long-established names in the industry, are joining forces to form a single organization. OONA/BAAS brings together the strengths of both agencies, forming a dynamic, integrated organization. “We aspire to become the strongest communications agency in the Benelux,” says Werner De Smet, CEO of the newly formed OONA/BAAS group.
The merger offers not only strategic advantages but also significant geographical benefits. OONA has a strong presence in Belgium, while BAAS is firmly established in the Netherlands. Together, they have created an agency that is both locally relevant and internationally ambitious.

On November 1st the first pop-up event of BACARDÍ & Patta took place in Amsterdam Noord, where we hosted 350 lucky guests for an unforgettable night. The evening featured signature BACARDÍ cocktails, the dynamic energy of Krackfree Soundsystem, and a lineup of carefully curated DJs selected by PATTA. We also revealed the first limited-edition BACARDÍ x PATTA merchandise item, available exclusively to attendees, the item quickly became the ultimate memento of the night. This collaboration continues to deliver unique experiences, blending spirits, style, and shared Caribbean roots. With more events and exclusive releases on the horizon, we’re just getting started. In October we introduced the New Balance Run Room in the city centre during the Amsterdam marathon! This space was a haven for all runners to gear up, recharge, and connect. BAAS created a Shake Station, offering protein shakes to runners and the public.

BACARDÍ and Amsterdam’s iconic streetwear label PATTA have come together to blend spirits and style in a collaboration that celebrates friendship, community, and their shared Caribbean roots. VIPs and weekend millionaires, meet Grey Goose Altius: the super premium vodka set to take center stage at the most exclusive parties and events. Earlier in May Grey Goose launched this new premium wodka with an official launch party on Ibiza. With music by actor and DJ Idris Elba, guests, including Dutch celebrities Olcay Gulsen and Jaimie Vaes, experienced the atmosphere and essence of the new exquisite product in a private villa nestled in the beautiful hills of Cap Martinet on Ibiza. BAAS & MARTINI recently hosted a cozy dinner at Amsterdam’s newest hotspot, Restaurant Nonna, to mark the launch of their “Dare To Be” campaign. Guests enjoyed delicious Italian cuisine paired with MARTINI cocktails, setting the perfect mood for the evening. The event was distinctively hosted by MARTINI ambassador, restaurant owner, and actor Thijs Boermans, alongside ambassadors Anna Nooshin and Yeliz Çiçek.

As May drew to a close, Brussels donned a cloak of grey. The iconic hue of New Balance took center stage at our three-day event in the heart of the Belgian capital. We metamorphosed the pop-up venue Firma into the Grey Cafe, a haven for Belgian and Dutch media. On Saturday, the space blossomed into a vibrant celebration, where New Balance enthusiasts gathered to enjoy performances by Rick Baguette, Young Fresh, and Yellowstraps.

They unveiled a completely new reality format called kNOwhere to Hide… Wie Niet Weg Is presented by Stefan Jurriëns, the new crime series Bad Standing featuring Gijs Naber and Elise Schaap, the comedy series Nordin by Achmed Akkabi, and the upcoming romantic comedy film Vuur & Vlam starring Bo Maerten and Alkan Çöklü in the lead roles.

Finally, the new office of BAAS Amsterdam has been completed. Over the past few months, extensive renovations have taken place on the 10th floor of the A’DAM Tower. After the artists from Graphic Surgery completed their murals, the final furnishing was done. The new office provides workspace for 30 employees, with perhaps one of the most beautiful views over the city.

RISE OF THE RONIN 21 March 2024
To celebrate the release of the PlayStation exclusive action-adventure game “Rise of the Ronin,” which takes inspiration from nineteenth-century Japan, BAAS transformed the Sony Interactive Benelux office into a vibrant Japanese setting. Given the Japanese origins of both PlayStation and “Rise of the Ronin,” the rooms were dressed with shoji rice paper room dividers, Bonsai trees, and chabudai (low tables). Influencers and community members were invited for a two-day event to experience the game hands-on and participate in traditional shodō (Japanese calligraphy) activities, all while enjoying traditional sushi delicacies.

Last week was a hardcore masterpiece! BAAS Amsterdam organised on behalf of Amazon Prime Video, the premiere of the new Dutch film ‘Hardcore Never Dies.’ The ambiance of the evening came to life with classical tunes by the one and only Gabber Pianist on a Steinway grand piano during the reception. The film received a super warm response from the audience, setting the stage for an unforgettable afterparty where DJ’s Predator, Ruffneck, Distortian & Bass-D unleashed a musical spectacle that took the standard for the coming moving premieres to new heights.

After a successful debut during AFW 2022, Atelier Reservé showed this year’s ‘Discomfort’ collection during AFW 2023. The show, which took place on the roof of the famous Adyen building, attracted a lot of attention. New Balance supported with deadstock, which the Reserve Boys upcycled to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind garments. incorporating them during their 2023 Amsterdam Fashion Week show. The pieces included jackets, caps and boots. The models also all wore a mix of New Balance footwear.
